Holiday Break 2018

We have had a wonderful Christmas break so far, despite it being a very busy December. The boys got out of school on Friday. December 21st. That evening, we hosted our second annual ugly sweater party for our St. Mark's friends. Lots of fun! Being that the party was adults only, the boys both had nights out. David spent the night with Dexter and Henry went with his friend Oliver to the opening of Urban Air in Southlake. On Saturday, we had my family up for Christmas. We got ZERO pictures, but we all had a wonderful time! We spent the Sunday and Monday before Christmas just hanging out at the house, playing board games, going to movies and going out to dinner (pictures below). On Tuesday, the boys woke up super early full of Santa excitement and were not disappointed ...  After a few hours playing with the new toys, we loaded up on the car and headed up to Oklahoma City to see Matt's family. We made record time up there, but didn't have the same luck on the way home the next day. On Thursday after Christmas, David got braces... he spent the rest of the break complaining about them. In addition to acting and sounding like a teenager, he now LOOKS like one as well.

Big gifts this year included a hoover board, tennis backboard, and PacMan game for David and a mini-Segway, train set and transformers for Henry.

Pictures and more commentary below:

Like always, I waited until the last minute to wrap gifts... Henry was taking pictures of batman, but got me...looking tired and stressed... in the background. I figure one day I will look back and appreciate the hustle of wrapping toys and putting together Santa gifts!

Henry is very much into Legos... and he is quiet good at putting them together. This is a 8-12 age Lego that Uncle B got for David. Henry did it all by himself.

Dinner out with Mariola using the gift card that Aunt Blair gave us!

On Christmas Eve, Matt and David went to play tennis while Henry and I spent some time at his favorite nail salon... he still loves going and likes getting lots of colors. At one point, I was asking about his choices and he told me to "stop talking, he was relaxing."

Fun on the new toys...

Matt and I continued the tradition of watching Bad Santa while assembling the Santa gifts!

The big day!

On the way to OKC for Christmas #2...

Little Christmas night swimming at the hotel.

WE spent a few hours the day after Christmas at MiMar's house. It was odd without Granddad and she seems very sad (which is to be expected). We were going through and looking at pictures and I took a photo of these. The first is Mimar's engagement photo- she is just stunning. The second were of Matt in high school.... check out that hoop earring.

The new braces.. before he realized they hurt!

We tried out rock climbing.. it was hard (at least for me and Matt, boys were fine).

Top Golf outing....
