I had the intention of taking monthly pictures of Henry next to this monkey to show his growth progress.... as you might recall, this was a few days after we brought Henry home from the hospital:
Here is one month:
And Two months:
... but then we lost the monkey. However, just in time for Henry to turn 8 months old, we found the long lost monkey (it was in Matt's closest - why or how, who knows?). Look how much big our little guy is getting:
David loves Henry so much... sometimes too much. He typically tries to hug, cuddle or just generally suffocate him and then this happens:
In other Henry news, he is quite a fireball. We really thought he was going to be the laid back chill kid, but not so much. He has places to go and is generally pissed that he can't get there quicker. He is extremely persistent (maybe even more so than David at this age) and truly believes he can walk (although he can't). He crawls to whatever object he can pull up on and then alternates letting go with his hands in an attempt to stand freely. It often ends with him hitting his head, getting upset and then trying again almost immediately. I think we are going to have another Type-A child.
Henry hasn't had much interest in eating solids. He likes Greek yogurt in the mornings and will eat some squash, carrots and prunes... but only when he is in the mood and never very much. He does love teething biscuits and now has 4 teeth - two on bottom and two on top.
He has started babbling quite a bit and occasionaly says mamamam (or something like it). He has done a few baby signs for milk and more (although he might think the sign for milk is "help me" because he likes to do it when he is getting his diaper chaged and wants the process to be over). He is generally pretty happy so long as he is not in the car seat. The kid absolutely hates the car seat. We have tried different car seats, changed the straps, made sure there is nothing poking him, etc. and nothing works - he just hates being in the car seat. He hates it so much that he generally screams the entire time. This made for some interesting traveling on our Spring Break trip...more on that to come.
