February

We have had a lot going on and I have fallen behind in blogging. In addition to buying a house and packing and getting ready to move and being pregnant, work has been super busy the last few weeks. I am hoping that things settle down (and my two current deals get closed) in time to have some time off to unpack. My switch back to full time has definitely set in..but things are going very well so I can't complain too much.

So - here are the highlights of February with the Watermans:

First and most importantly, Matt and I celebrated our 5th year anniversary this past weekend. It has been an amazing five years and it feels like we have even better ones ahead. We had a pretty low-key celebration as we were busy picking out paint colors for the new house, spending time with David and getting ready for the big move. Currently, we are painting, then having new floors installed before moving in on March 6th.   And I have to brag just a little - Matt sent me the greatest gift for our anniversary and Valentine's Day - an orchid from Gunter's - the orchid shop where we got all of the flowers for our wedding.

The weekend before last, I ran my very first 5-K and David and Matt ran a 1-K Fun Run. I didn't have the greatest time, but I was very proud of myself. I ran the entire 5-K - which is quite a feat considering that I couldn't run for more than 5 minutes about nine weeks ago when we started training and now I was able to run the entire 5-K. It has been fun training with my running group. We have had so much fun that I actually look forward to the mornings when we get up at 6am to go run in the cold. Kind of crazy!

David literally had the best time ever doing the 1-K Fun Run. According to Matt, he ran almost the entire way and wanted to do it again (side note- he did have some sore legs the next day, but asked if we could run another race when they got better. I think we have a little runner).  David's type A personality is starting to come out - he was all about winning the "race." He wanted to hang out and run with Lila (I have been running with Carol, Lila's mom, and Travis and Lila ran with Matt and David in the Fun Run), but he wanted to make sure he was in front of her by at least a little. And when they got to the finish line - he was full out running to make sure he crossed the finish line first.

I was able to sneak away from work to go to David's Valentine's Day party at school. He had fun!

We have been busy picking out new paint colors and floors. David has been a big help (as you can see):

Because I was so busy last week and David has had a lot of changes lately (new house, new brother coming, new arrangement with going to Ms. Carmen's house after school - although he thinks that is pretty darn awesome because he gets to hang out with Joshua), we decided to spend a little time treating David this weekend. It started with a trip to the Toy store on Saturday morning where we let David pick out a new race track and some new cars. He took his decisions very seriously.

We then went to a carnival on Sunday. Yes- one of those ghetto mall-parking lot carnivals and, you know what, it was a lot of fun. Ridiculous overpriced fun!!

On the Ferris Wheel:

Going down the slide. David was not tall enough to ride by himself, so Matt and I took turns going down with him. I think we had as much fun as he did....

Final update. Matt does 15-20 minute work-outs in the morning, which usually consist of push-ups. David announced a few days ago that he can do push-ups like Daddy. And he can - in fact, he can probably do more push-ups than mommy.
