Parent Teacher Conference and Other Shenanigans

Things have been pretty routine lately. Matt had to go out of town last week for work, so it was just David and I for most of the week. Prior to his departure, we went to David's first parent-teacher conference on Monday morning. Contrary to what we thought, the teachers said David was doing great at school. He supposedly stops crying about 5 minutes after we drop him off and is "really happy" the rest of the day. His report said he is a "natural" in the Montessori environment and the teachers had really complimentary things to say about him and his progress. There are three teachers in David's classroom - the lead, the assistant and a helper. We have not been that fond of the lead teacher since school started. She just didn't seem that interested in the job and David didn't seem to really bond with her. We did, however, love the assistant and the helper teachers and David talks about both of them fondly. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that the current assistant teacher, Ms. Coral, has replaced the lead teacher, who left the school last week. Sounds like we were not the only parents that did not care for her (although I never said anything before she left as I didn't want to be "that" parent - guess I should have gone with my gut and spoken up sooner).

When Matt was out of town, David and I went to see Dr. Brown to get David a flu shot. Not only was he awesome during his check-up, he was such a big boy for his flu shot as well. It is amazing how fast he is growing up.

David typically likes cuddling, but the few nights that Matt was out of town, he took over Matt's side of the bed.

Aunt Hayley came over to hang out with us a few nights that Matt was gone. David loves his Aunt Hayley time!

David's personality has really blossomed lately and he is quite the ham.  Here are some of his latest shenanigans:
