Week 1 with Aunt Hayley

Here are some pictures from Hayley's first week with David. The adorable little girl in a lot of the pictures is Calla - a friend and co-worker's little girl that is staying with Hayley some this summer as well. David loves having someone to play with during the day and Calla is about the cutest thing ever!! And, as we already knew, Hayley is amazing - she already has David back on his school nap schedule (which is quite a feat for our little guy - he is not a fan of sleeping at home) and David has been just awesome in the evenings.

Weekend Fun

I haven't gotten Hayley's photos from last week, but it sounds like the first week went awesome (and she is still standing). They spent lots of time in the pool and at the park and made some trips to the museum and spray park. David is loving it!!

 

We also had a big weekend. Matt's trial is going into its last week and so he was able to get some time off this weekend. We had Lila and his family over Friday night for pizza and pool time, went to a birthday party on Saturday morning, then soccer, followed by more pool time and then made a full day trip to the zoo on Sunday (followed by even more pool time - the pool is pretty awesome).  For the record - yes, very pregnant. 33 weeks... and it is starting to get HOT!!

David is ready to go with his map... he is big on wanting us to show him where he is at and trying to figure out what direction we should go (although, we have been to the zoo so many times that I am certain he knows where everything is located - but the map thing is cute).

 

 

Despite being a daredevil with everything else, David has always been a little weary of the carousel. He wants to ride it, but he always sits in the cart.  

 

Today was the day - he finally rode an animal!! And he loved it:

 

 

 

 

 

We started a new soccer class this week, but last week he got a medal for his participation in the last session. Medal = big hit!

Best Summer Ever

So far, David thinks summer is pretty awesome. Hayley is here and they are having a blast (between swimming, the park, trips to the library...I am pretty jealous). And the pool - best purchase ever. David is part-fish and loves having the swimming pool. It is expensive and a pain to take care of, but we are defintely getting our use out of it!!

Any time David gets to pick the restaurant, he picks sushi. He loves eating the edamane with chopsticks. The other night, he saw a fly on the window and decided to try and catch it with his chopsticks. I don't know if the fly was partaking in the sake or what, but David caught the darn thing - with chopsticks. We would have told him to stop and sit down, but it was so amusing that the fly was not just flying away. Rather he would just move around the window. After about 15 attempts - David got him. He quickly got away and we were too busy laughing for me to get a picture of the actual capture, but I got some good pictures of the pursuit. Maybe we should start calling him Danielson....

Kitchen Remodel

We are making progress on the remodel project. Floors and cabinets are installed and granite should be in later this week. We had a couple delays, but seems like things are starting to progress. Here are so pictures:

 Hayley went with me to pick out our granite slab and we found this slab in the warehouse. It is gorgeous and, of course, one of the exotic ones that was way more expensive than what we were supposed to be looking at...Luckily, I called around and they worked with me on the price, so we got it. Luckily, I was a little under-budget (well, under the revised budget) thanks to spending countless hours shopping around and negotiating prices for appliances...
