David was a cute little monkey for Halloween. Unfortunately, we did not make it trick-or-treating because he was not too impressed with (read: terrified of) the other kids in the neighborhood wearing masks. He was also super tired because we were lucky enough to have Granny D come down to help out this past weekend (Matt and I were stuck at work most of the weekend and Matt and his brother went to see the Rangers play in Game 3 of the World Series). They had lots of bonding time although I think David really wore out Granny D. He can be a little high maintenance at times. Hopefully she will still agree to come down the next time we call on such short notice. Thanks to Granny D for helping out at the last minute. We so greatly appreciate it!

In other news, we are officially walking. I thought this would be great news, but it just presents a whole new set of potential hazards in the house (all of which David is determined to find). He also learned how to get on his Tonka truck and ride it (or push it) around the house. That is a big source of entertainment lately.

First Haircut

We took David to get his first haircut today. As you can see, it was getting very mullet-ie (and curly-- we have no idea where the curls come from):

Trip started out well. David was actually good on the car ride to the hair salon and he really enjoyed playing with the toys and other kids in the waiting area.

We went to a hair salon just for kids with movies and cute cars for chairs. He seemed very occupied and content until she put the blue cape around him.

It deteriorated pretty quickly from there. He did not like the scissors or the cape and wanted nothing to do with the whole hair cutting experience. In fact, he screamed at the top of his lungs the entire time. I think he managed to upset every other child in the place.

Still pissed about the hair cut on the ride home...although his hair looks much better. She managed to do a great job despite David screaming non-stop.
