2 weeks

We survived two whole weeks of Matt being out of town. It is a first and I am proud to report everyone is alive and well - no late dropoffs at all!

Matt had signed up to teach at David's cub scout meeting on last week. The topic - sportsman ship and flag folding. I, of course, had to take his place and know absolutely nothing about either topic. Luckily, 8 year old boys are easy to amuse. So we did so fun activities (one involving a 6ft long 4x4 board that I brought in) and talked about fun flag facts (did you know there are actually 6 US flags on the moon). Lots of fun! David was scout leader and he did great.

I really focused on getting home early and spending lots of good quality time with the kids this week. I have been so busy, I needed to catch up with the, And we had a great week!

The boys also decided to go through Matt's old baseball cards. In the same bin, we found Matt's high school year books. Look how cute he was:

Late night walk resulting in boo-boos..

Today, Granny D is at St. Mark's for grandparents day and Matt comes home tonight. Looking forward to a great Thanksgiving next week!

Happy Halloween, Time Change, Parent Teacher Conferences and Trial... oh my!

Halloween fell on a Tuesday and it just happened to be the only cold day we have had in weeks... so a little bit of a bummer. But that didn't stop us from trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. This was the first year where Henry was totally in... he had a blast running from one house to the next and yelling at David to keep up.

my costume was a little tight over the winter gear!! But Henry wanted me to wear my matching Darth Vader suit... figure he won't really enjoy that for many years, so I obliged.

Henry's Halloween sing along. It was cute..

When he finally sees me in crowd and smiles... totally worth missing a morning of work on a super busy day (sort of).  I didn't take a video because honestly... I feel like parents miss so much these days trying to get things on video rather than actually witnessing the event. Literally, 99% of the audience just had the phones in front of their faces rather than watching the show. I am taking a personal stance to not do that, so.. no video, but a quite lovely memory of my sweet boy singing (although what he was singing - no clue)!

David was off school on Thursday and Friday of last week... for parent teacher conferences. Love St. Mark's, but really.. two days off.. just two weeks before Thanksgiving.. for parent teacher conferences. Ok.. venting over. David had a blast with multiple playdates- he spent two nights at Evans house, then had Charlie over and then Bo and Charlie spent the night, then Evan was back to spend the night on Sat. By Sunday - we were all exhausted!

Which is good - because on Sunday, we put Matt on a plane to head off to a 2-week trial. 2 weeks of single parenting... during the week we have earnings reporting and board meetings... yay!

 Some pictures of playdate fun:

I took the boys to Soar on Sat. to buy some time since Matt had to work

Matt and I got in a nice dinner in on Sat. night before he left. No pictures, but this wine was pretty darn good.

Oh yea.. and the time changed...

On Friday of last week, it was Dads day at Henry's school. Here made this for Matt. I think he nailed everything but the age

We also had David's parent teacher conference on Friday. Got a great report. Here are some of the report card highlights:
