Our First Incident Report

I didn't get a chance to blog about this last week, but David got his very first incident report last week at school (see below). We were shocked! David is such a sweet kid and the teachers have all raved about how nice he is to his friends. A few weeks ago, however, he sort of discovered other kids existed. I think we made the official switch from parallel play to full out interaction with other children. With that comes the good and the bad. David is the youngest in his class, so he has been hanging out with the older boys. They seem to pick up each other's bad habits. David starting hitting everything and everyone with his hands saying "bam, bam, bam." So, last Wednesday, when I picked up David - I got the below report. I went into intervention overdrive - I immediately went to half-priced books and bought every book on hitting they had. We read "Hands are not for Hitting" about 20 times ant alked a lot about how it makes our friends sad if we are not nice to them. I guess it worked because the rest of the week, we got great reports from the teachers. On Friday when I picked him up, David walked up and said "Mommy, I did not hit my friends."
