Grandparents Day
David's school had their annual grandparent day celebration today. The grandparents and kids attend a chapel service together where the kids sing songs and then put on a little presentation and show the grandparents their classroom, etc. Unfortunately, David didn't have any grandparents that could make it, so Matt and I switched out being substitute grandparents - he took him to chapel and I went to see the classroom part. Here is a video of the "Thank You" song that the kids sang and a picture. David was super excited that he now has 5 hang-out days!!

Randon Pics
Some random pictures of what we have been up to:
Last weekend (yes, way before Thanksgiving and with 75 degree weather), we went to see the lighting of the Christmas tree and Santa in downtown Dallas. We were going to meet Lila and her parents, but ran into the Gaffords as well, so David had lots of kids to play with...

Happy Birthday Daddy
Yesterday was Matt's birthday. He had work commitments, so he didn't get home until 8:00 pm last night... but that gave David and I plenty of time to make him a birthday cake - complete with 34 candles. As it turns out, it is quite difficult to get all 34 lit and to then blow them out (as you can see in the pictures). Notice Henry is the bumbo in the background... he was sitting in the window seat just watching everything (such the second child).

4 years and 4 months
We took David and Henry to see Dr. Brown yesterday for their respective 4 year and 4 month checkups. They both got shots, which neither cared for much, and generally got clean bills of health. David was a little ornery during his check-up, insisting that he "do it himself" when Dr. Brown tried to use the stethoscope to check his heart/lungs, etc.... the doctor called him "energized. Here are the stats (note that they average to one normal child):
David:
Weight - 38 lbs (75%)
Height - 3'6" (90%)
BMI - 15.1 (30%)
He passed his vision (20/25 in both eyes) and hearing test!
Henry:
Weight - 13lbs 3 oz (25%)
Height - 24.5" (25%)
Head - 16.75" (50%)
Considering his size at birth, Henry is actually catching up quite nicely.

Nicknames
Not sure how it started, but we called David "Peanut" for quite a while both before and after birth (thus the name of the blog). As things have a way of just happening, Henry's nickname has become Huggles. It started because of a cartoon that David and Calla watched this summer called Henry Hugglemonster. Once little man arrived, the kids would call him Henry the Hugglemonster (or Henry the baby monster). Now he is just called Huggles (which seems fitting because he is quite snugly):

Dentist
David went to the dentist for the first time yesterday and did awesome. I know, you are suppose to take them to the dentist when they first get teeth and every 6 months thereafter, blah, blah, blah...but truthfully, I think it is a waste of money and time when they are really young. They are just baby teeth after all and we really good at brushing and flossing twice a day. In addition, we don't let David have juice and we limit sugar (which is what causes all the cavity and teeth problems that kids have these days). Luckily, all of this has worked well for David because the dentist said his teeth look remarkable. He also got a "cleaning" and X-rays and was a great patient. I was very proud of him as I wasn't sure how he would handle the whole dentist experience.

Back to Work
I started back to work last week and it has (as expected) been really hard. Luckily, we have Hayley to watch the kiddos and that has made the transition much easier. It is nice that I don't have to worry about them because I know that they are in good hands....but I miss them. And, although Henry is a great sleeper, I am still getting up to nurse him at night and then getting up early with David -- so I am tired. Add to that an extremely busy first week back and pumping every few hours at work - I am exhausted (both mentally and physically). So... sorry for the lack of blog posts and/or returned phone calls. I will get back into the groove, Henry will eventually sleep, I will eventually stop nursing (sadly, I can't imagine that Henry will get the 20 months of nursing that David got- what was I thinking??) and life with the four of us will seem normal....but, until then, here are random pictures of the things we have been up to lately (in random order):
David is such a good big brother.
The weekend before Halloween we met Lila at her school carnival. Look how big these two have gotten.
I found this picture on Matt's phone. Pretty typical of what happens in the evenings.

Some of Henry from this past weekend. I had to work on Sunday and he sat next to me and just watched and played with his bear. Seriously - best baby ever!!
Henry has started batting at things and loves to lay under his gym and look at the toys. He is just the best baby. Generally very happy and laid back. David has had a lot of birthday parties and other school events on the weekends lately (in addition to the soccer and t-ball practices). We put Henry in the baby carrier and tote him from one place to the next and the kid is just awesome. He has, however, started to cry when he is in the car seat (which, as you may recall, David would scream from the second you put him in the car until you got him out - whether it was 5 minutes or the 6 hour trip to Austin when we got stuck in traffic), but we figure Henry can't be perfect.
David playing with his new things he got for his birthday. He especially loves building with his Picasso tiles that Granny D and Papa Bruce got him.

The Thursday before last, David came into our room around 1:30am and said his stomach was upset. He then promptly thew up on me (literally) and continued to vomit through the rest of the night. After three sheet changes, we just moved him to the bathroom. It was so sad. I didn't realize it, but David has only thrown up once before and he was too young to really remember it. (Side Note: It was when he was 2 years old and right after he started at St. James. He had a stomach bug that me and all of Matt's family caught ...it was much worse in adults and not pretty). This time, he remembers and has told everyone about it. I think it was a little traumatizing for him because he really listened when I told him too much Halloween candy will make him throw up. He wanted nothing to do with it after hearing that....
Hayley getting ready to be a zombie in the flash mob zombie dance...
Henry was sleeping on Matt's chest and decided to pick his head up and fall back asleep on Matt's face. Very sweet baby..
