David clearly got his vocal skills from his mother, but at least he makes up for it with his cuteness!!

Birthday Bread
At St.James, the kids bake and share bread to celebrate birthdays. They also have a small celebration during circle time where the birthday kid shares pictures and stories about themselves. The teacher tells the kids how the candles represent the sun and then they take the globe and circle the "sun" and talk about each year of their life.
They had David's birthday bread celebration this past Monday and Matt and I got to join them in the class. As you can see, it was super cute:

Happy Birthday David
David turned four this past Sunday and he had a pretty amazing birthday weekend. We picked him up on Friday and had dinner at David's favorite place - The Lot - with Travis, Carol, Lila and Skyler. On Saturday, we went to his school picnic and then headed to Fort Worth for Colton's (my favorite nephew) birthday party. Thanks to poor planning, however, we never ended up making it to Fort Worth. Long story, but we made it out of downtown Dallas before the game let out, but had to take Matt back to the house and then Hayley and I made a wrong turn and ended up in the Texas/OU traffic for over an hour. It was HORRIBLE and I was so sad to miss Colton's party. We are hoping to make it up to him in a few weekends when we comes to stay with us. After that fiasco (and a long time in the car), we made it home and David enjoyed spending time with the grandparents and opening gifts.
On Sunday, I made pumpkin bread for David's birthday breakfast and then had a party at Bake and Play Café. Despite me forgetting to send a lot of the invites (if you moved in the past year, your invite is still sitting on the kitchen table with a note to get your new addresses), we had a good turn-out and got to meet a lot of the new kids in David's class. The party was pretty awesome - the kids baked their own pizza and cake and played in the indoor playroom - which worked out well with the rain. David had a blast and got lots of great gifts from all of his friends. Henry was an angel at the party - he was passed around from one person to the next and loved every minute of it. We would not trade anything for David (especially with his amazing personality...the kid has a lot of character), but I think we might have had a lot more kids if the first was more like Henry (minus the pregnancy complications and stay in NICU).

OKC
Last weekend we flew up to OKC to visit Matt's family and introduce Henry to Matt's grandparents -MiMar and Granddad. As you can see, we had a great visit and the kids both did great on the trip. Unlike the car (where David gets very bored very quickly), he loves loves loves to fly. In fact, getting up there always ends up being a highlight of the trip. Luckily, Henry seems to follow in his footsteps. He was an angel and slept on the flight both going up and coming back. In fact, Henry is a pretty awesome baby. I think we were due for an easy one.
