Catching Up

With Matt out of town and work picking up, my blogging has fallen behind. I also seem to forget my camera a lot these days. So, looking at the pictures from the last few weeks, here is just a glimpse of what we have been up to:

Late one evening a few weeks ago, David woke up around 11:30pm, got out of his bed, got his baseball cap off the floor and walked into the kitchen. He opened the pantry, got a bag a chips from the back shelf and then brought them into bathroom to eat. After a few chips, he moved the party to our bedroom where he sat on the scale.  No clue what he was thinking...but it was worth a few pictures...

Matt and I went to charity auction this past weekend and got this cool new train table. David is a big fan. He helped Matt put it together and has been playing with it ever since.

I ordered a piano for David that came in last week. Unfortunately, it was delivered in the wrong color - bright pink. I would not care so much about the pink, but it was also damaged. We let David play with it for the weekend, but it had to go back today. We did have it long enough for Lila, our neighbor who is 6 months older than David, to come over this weekend and have a jam session. How cute is their little band?

Please ignore the dirty house. It had been a long week and busy weekend and I didn't get around to picking until late Sunday night (see later pictures)..

Matt leaves again tomorrow for the rest of the week, so it is another week of single parenting for me. Wish me luck!!

Thanks Granny D

I am buried at work this week and, if that was not enough, Matt is out of town for the ENTIRE WEEK. So far Operation Single Mom has gone smoothly, but we are only on Day 2. Just had to share a funny David moment from today. David helped me get the mail, which included a package from amazon.com with my multi-vitamins in it. He looked super excited and wanted to open it. About half-way into opening it, he told me he was "pretty sure it contained tic-tacs for David." Ever since he got tic-tacs in his Valentine's Day card from Granny D, he has wanted to get the mail and, based on today's reaction, I think he is waiting on more tic-tacs.

Ms. Coral's Birthday

David took Ms. Coral flowers to celebrate her birthday on Friday. We went to the store on Thursday evening to pick out some daises, her favorite flower, and David loved carrying them around the store, paying for them and then taking them to the classroom on Friday. Matt said from the time he got out of the car until he got to the classroom, he was a man on a mission. Here are some pictures Matt got on his phone -

Happy Valentine's Day

I have been trying to have an activity arranged each day after school to keep David busy. Last week, we did lots of art projects in preparation of Valentine's Day. I didn't, however, get the projects in the mail until today - so family members will be getting their cards a little late this week.

See that concentration...that is an artist at work!

Status Quo

Life has been status quo here lately - which is pretty nice for a change. Uncle Jake and Aunt Kim came to visit for the weekend. We had a great time...even if Aunt Kim was a little under the weather (actually - she just got car sick anytime we went anywhere. I tried to blame Matt's driving, but it turns out it happened when I drove as well). We went to the museum on Saturday to see the Shark exhibit and then the adults went out to a comedy show on Saturday night. It was a quick visit and we took them to the airport this morning. Tonight, Aunt Hayley and Kristen and Dave came over for dinner. It was a great weekend. Unfortunately, the weather is getting cold here. As of the time of writing this, it is snowing. Based on the weather forecast, Texas is not going to let us down this time. The snow is not suppose to stick and it will back to the high 60's/low 70's by mid-week.

I didn't get any pictures this weekend with Uncle Jake and Aunt Kim, but we had one taken at the museum that I will scan in tomorrow. Until then, here are some recent pictures from around the house of David getting into things:

Our new breakfast table has a storage drawer in the base. David thinks it is a sitting area for him.  Add in a rubber ball on a string and it provides for a good half-house of entertainment.

Her is getting so big...

First time blowing a dandelion...and some of the florets blew back towards his face. You can see the white floret on his nose in one picture:
