Merry Christmas

We went up to Oklahoma City on Sunday to celebrate Christmas with the Watermans. It was a lot of fun and David loved getting gifts. This is the first year where he really got the whole present concept. He opened each one and was excited to see what he got. He said things like - "did you pick this out for me" and "what could it be." Seriously, adorable! He also handed out everyone's gifts, which was pretty darn cute as well.

Granny D and Papa Bruce got David a big boy bike for Christmas. It was a big hit, but it was a little too cold to enjoy outside.

We didn't get around to taking a family photo until late in the evening when my family had already switched into PJs.

Despite the winter storm (and really really cold temperatures), we got a little bike time in...

On Tuesday, Santa found David at Granny D and Papa Bruce. He was kind of into it, but he was more concerned about the fact Santa ate his cookie.

Christmas with Hayley

Hayley came up to see us and we had the best weekend. On Friday night, we took David to the Magic Time Machine. It was not as great as I expected (the food was bad and the waiters did not seem that dedicated), but David had fun.

On Sat morning, we went down to the new Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas. It is pretty amazing - they built a park over the top of Woodall Rogers Freeway.

On Saturday night, we went to Celebration Station.

On Sunday - we celebrated Christmas and David got the coolest gift from Aunt Hayley - a tent. He has not wanted to leave it ever since.

Weekend Updates

David went to a birthday party for one of his classmates on Saturday at the flight museum. All of his friends from school were there, including William, and he had a blast.

The kid's play area at the flight museum has a air control tower that the kids can climb into. David has never been able to make it to the top (although he tries ever visit), so him doing so this time was a big accomplishment. He was looking out of the glass top and we were waiving at him for a couple of minutes before we realized he was completely panicking. He could not figure out how to get out of the hole to climb back down. So guess who had to go rescue him? At the birthday party - with all the parents that we see on a daily basis watching!

David was up front for the singing of Happy Birthday and cutting of the cake:

We had to go Walmart this weekend and David saw the bikes. I think he might be ready for one:

On Sunday, I went to an exercise class and Matt and David hung out at the house (they actually enjoyed playing outside to take in the last few hours of 70 degree weather before winter decides to show up). It was suppose to be David's nap time, but I was informed that David told Matt he did not need a nap since it was the weekend. I am assuming there was more to the conversation because Matt was so impressed with David's negotiating skills that he decided to let him skip the nap. Turns out, despite his mature logic and seemingly plausible explanation that he didn't need a nap, David needed a nap. He passed out at dinner - at a booth in a restaurant. For anyone that knows our kid, this doesn't happen. Ever.
