Girls, Girls, Girls

On Monday, David's friend Parker came over to play. Parker lives in our neighborhood and Isabel and Parker's nanny, Myra, have become friends. It sounds like these two have a good time together. I think Parker is ready for David to get a little bigger so he can keep up with her.

On Tuesday, my youngest niece, Kenzie, came up to stay for a few days. After two days with two little ones (Kenzie is 16 months old), I am pretty sure that Matt, David, Isabel and I are all in agreement that we will not be adding to the family for a few years. It has, however, been lots of fun to spend time with her. David seems to really like watching her do everything. He is especially interested in her eating habits - mainly that she does it herself. He seems very jealous.

Passed Out Peanut

Matt, David and I had a great Saturday - we ran errands, went to the park, went to one of our favorite local restaurants for dinner and came home to watch a movie in bed. It was a little before Peanut's bedtime, so he was hanging out with us. As you can see, he didn't make it long. We looked down and found one passed out peanut:

Not a Dancer...

Last Friday, David and I drove up to Oklahoma City to see Granny D's dance show. After a long drive with a few feeding stops and car seat breaks (peanut hates the car seat), we made it to the show. I was so excited and was just sure that David would love the music and the dancers. Turns out...I was wrong. Very, very wrong. As soon as the curtain opened and the music started, David let me and the entire audience know that he hated everything about the dance show. He was having nothing to do with it and, for the first time ever, decided he wanted no one to hold him but me. So, we spent the ENTIRE dance show in the hallway outside of the auditorium. It was pretty warm in the hall, so we stripped peanut down to his onesie and let him play on the ticket table. He had a great time! I got to sneak in to see a few of the dances, which were awesome. We had a suspicion that Granny D was talented, which now we know for sure, but we had no clue she was so hip. It was so much fun to see her with the students - she is such a special person who has touched so many lives. David is lucky to have such an awesome grandmother.

Six Month Check-Up

David went in for his 6 month check-up today and did great. He now weighs 19lbs and 10oz (82nd percentile), is 28 inches long (96th percentile), and his head is 17 1/4 (50th percentile). For some reason, Peanut decided Dr. Brown was quite funny and laughed loudly through his entire check-up. He also got a pretty good hold on the otoscope (the thing the doc uses to look into peanut's ear) and made a valiant effort at getting it from Dr. Brown. David took the shots pretty well this time. He cried for a few seconds right after he got them, but he was ok as soon as I picked him up. As you can see from the pictures, he has plenty of padding in the leg area...

Six Whole Months

David is six months old now today! We have his check-up (and the next round of shots - uck!) tomorrow morning. I will update everyone on his progress. But for today, here are some pictures of David's day.

Morning play time in peanut's room:

Up and at it again post peanut's morning nap:

Playtime at the park:

David's new friend Parker. Parker lives in our neighbor and Isabel has made friends with Parker's nanny. It sounds like David and Parker are becoming friends. Parker is a year old, so maybe she can teach David some big kid things.

Dinner at the Lepak's

We were invited to the Lepak's (Billy, Jenna & Will) house for a super fun dinner on Sunday evening. Jenna and I worked together at Fulbright and Will (her son) was born two weeks before David. It is so neat to see the boys together especially considering that Jenna and I spoke almost daily during our pregnancies. We were actually due within the same week, but Will was a little early and, as everyone knows, David was quite the hold out. David and Will seemed to be very intrigued by each other and I am pretty sure figured out some sort of baby communication. I think these two could get in lots of trouble together. They just have to get the whole walking thing down first.

I didn't get great pictures, but here are a few. Quite the handsome kiddos.

David's First Easter

We went up to Oklahoma City for David's first Easter. We had a great time and peanut got to visit with lots of family. We even got to go out on Saturday night for dinner with our good friends Jake and Stacy. Thanks to Granny D and Papa Bruce for babysitting!
